 1.  Identification of Other Backward Classes, inclusion in and exclusion from the State list of Other Backward Classes.

2.  Matters relating to State Commission for Backward Classes.

3.  Economic development Schemes for upliftment of Other Backward Classes.

4.  Centrally Sponsored Schemes concerning OBCs.

 The Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes has been constituted in 1993. As per Section 9 of Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1993, the Commission shall examine requests for inclusion of any Class of citizens as a backward Class in the list and hear complaints of over inclusion or under inclusion of any backward Class in such list and tender such advice to the State Govt. as it deems appropriate. The advice of the Commission shall ordinarily be binding upon the State Government.The Odisha Backward Classes Finance & Development Cooperative Corporation Ltd. is providing loan assistance at concessional rate of interest to the people belonging to Other Backward Classes living below the double poverty line under various income generating Schemes i.e., Term Loan Schemes, Micro Finance Scheme and New Swarnima Scheme at present.

The OBCFDCC Ltd. avails loan from the NBCFDC for disbursement of loan to the beneficiaries.
