     Office functions between 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. with a lunch break between 1.30 P.M. to 2 P.M. during day office and from 7.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. during morning office. The office functions on all working days as provided in Government Calendar printed and published by the Government of Odisha. However Officer and employees are available to dispose off the day's assignment up to an extended hour as per requirement.

F. Land Acquisition Section:

1. Aim and objectives of the organization:

     Acquisition of private land for the purpose of setting of Industrial, Mining, Irrigation Project, National Park & Sanctuaries, Urban Project and Linear Project like road and railways, Power lines and any other projects as per Land Acquisition Act, 1894 on getting the requisition from the concerned authorities.

2. Mission/ Vision:

     Acquiring the land by the stipulated time and handing over the possession of the same to the Requisitioning authority. Also ensuring absolute Re-settlement and Rehabilitations of displaced persons.

3. Brief History of the Public Authority and context of its formation:

     The Land Acquisition Section, Collectorate, Nabarangpur has started functioning since inception of the district i.e. 02.10.1992 in the Revenue Section, Collectorate, Nabarangpur and it started functioning separately since 07.06.2002. The District Magistrate & Collector, Nabarangpur has all the power in respect of Land Acquisition Section however the Land Acquisition officer, being delegated with the power performed all the duties of the Collector as envisaged under L.A. Act.

4. Allocation of Business:

     Acquisition of private land for various purposes, payment of compensation to the Land Losers, Rehabilitation and Re-Settlement of displaced persons.

5. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:

     On getting the proposals for Land Acquisition for the requisitioning authorities, preliminary Notification u/s 4(1) is sent to the Government in Revenue & Disaster Management Department for publication in official Gazette Notification. Awarding compensation of the displaced as per estimate. Rehabilitation & Re-Settlement of displaced as enumerated in Odisha Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy, 2006
