This Sub-Division is headed by one Assistant Executive Engineer for flood forecasting, maintenance of Gauge-Discharge Stations in the U/S & D/S of Hirakud Dam, assessment and collection of industrial water rates. The jurisdiction of this Sub-division is divided into four sections, one Junior Engineer being in charge of each section.
(iv) Right Bank Sub-Division, Burla:
This sub-division headed by one Assistant Engineer for maintenance of Right dyke, head regulator of Bargarh Main Canal and residential and non-residential buildings at Burla. The jurisdiction of this Sub-division is divided into four sections, One Junior Engineer being incharge of each section.
(v) Electrical Maintenance Sub-Division, Burla:
This Sub-Division headed by one Assistant Engineer (Electrical) for electrical maintenance of the dam, dykes, residential and non-residential buildings at Burla and Hirakud. The jurisdiction of the Sub-Division is divided into two sections, one Junior Engineer (Electrical) being in charge of each section.
5. Details of Services Rendered:
(i) Maintenance of Dam & Dykes.
(ii) Operation and Maintenance of gates and cranes of spillways and Canal head regulators.
(iii) Maintenance of residential and non-residential quarters.
(iv) Collections, Processing of hydrological data of upstream and downstream catchments of Hirakud Dam.
(v) Flood forecasting of Mahanadi and operation of Hirakud Reservoir.
(vi) Collection of revenue from industrial establishments drawing water from Hirakud reservoir.
