1. History & Background of Its Establishment:
Kendrapara Municipality is the first Municipality in the State which was established on 10/03/1869. This town is populary known as Tulasi Kshetra, which is one among the Five holy Kshetras of Orisssa. It houses the temple of Lord Baladeva Jew in the heart of this Kshetra and this town is the home town of National Park Bhitara Kanika. The area of Kendrapara Municipality is about 10.86 Sq. K.M, Population of Kendrapara is 47006 as per 2011 Census.
2. Duties Performed:
The responsibilities & duties of this Organization are to provide sanitation, water supply, lights, road, drain & education facilities etc. to the general Public & to collect taxes & fees from the concerned tax payers.
