Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Brief History of the Public Authority:
The State vigilance, Odisha, is the premier Anti-Corruption Department of Govt. of Odisha. Koraput Vigilance Division is one of the 06 Vigilance Divisions of State Vigilance, Odisha. The Division was created as per notification of Govt. of Odisha in G.A. (Vig.) Department letter no. 888/VL dt. 7.2.2004 and its jurisdiction extends upto Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kalahandi and Nuapada revenue districts. Sanctioned Strength of the Division is SP-01, DSP-07, Inspector-16, SI-01, ASI-06, Dr.Hav.-02, APR Hav.- 01, Asst. Dr.-03, OR Constable-32 and APR Constable-04 total-73. Alike other Vigilance Divisions Koraput Vigilance Division is also headed by one Supdt. of Police, assisted by one Dy. S.P, 04 Inspectors and subordinate staff at the Division Head Quarters. Five Vigilance Units are functioning in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi at Bhawanipatna and Nuapada district headed by one DSP assisted by one Inspector each except Bhawanipatna Unit wherein one DSP and two Inspectors have been posted.
