1. Name of the Organization:
Odisha University of Technology and Research
2. Introduction:
The State Government established the “Odisha University of Technology and Research” located at Bhubaneswar by upgrading the College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar through the Odisha University of Technology and Research Act, 2021 (known as Odisha Act 17 of 2021). The University starts functioning with effect from 8th October, 2021 through Notification No. SDTE-HTE-HTE-II-0012-2021/4578 dated 08.10.2021 of SD&TE Department, Government of Odisha. The First Statutes 2022 of the University was notified vide Notification No. SDTE-HTE-HTE-II-0012-2022/1075 dated 09.02.2023.
The University is governed by the Odisha University of Technology and Research Act, 2021 and its First Statutes, 2022.
The University is located in the Techno Campus at Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar, about 2.0 km away from Khandagiri-Udayagiri caves. It spreads over 100 acres of green campus with 24x7 Wi-Fi coverage in the whole premises, including hostels. The University is 5 km from the bus stop, 8 km from Biju Patnaik International Airport, and 12 km from the Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
The First Academic Council Meeting was held on April 17, 2023 and the First Board of Management Meeting was held on July 11, 2023. The Vision Statement, Mission Statements, Core values and Goals of the University are finalized which are described below.
OUTR has started the Doctoral Programme (Ph. D.) from the Academic session 2012-2015 under TEQIP-II in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Application, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, English From academic session 2020-2021 (under Autonomous system) OUTR is providing PhD programme in Computer Science & Engineering. Information technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, English.
During its journey in last 38 years of its inception towards progress, OUTR now stands at top with its unique distinction of producing thousands of innovative brains who have been serving the globe holding many key positions in various Industries, Services, Production and R&D sectors The graduates of this institute are well appreciated by the service sector employers all over the country because of their excellent past academic records, best field performance sincerity and dedication in duty. This college is the only Govt. Engineering College in the Eastern Region of the country to offer technical education in 12 various courses and programmes in Engineering, MCA, Planning and Architecture, which is the highest in number. Being a leading college in the Capital, it has always been the 1st choice for admission for thousands of JEE applicants.
OUTR is one of the Six institutes of the State for getting TEQIP-III fund allocation of Rs 15 crores within a span of 5 years towards strengthening and improving teaching learning process under World Bank funding.
3. Objectives:
