Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aim & Objectives of the Organization:

i) To impart quality Education
ii) To stimulate the intellectual and moral faculties of young learners.
iii) To facilitate all round development of personalities of students by stressing on their physical and mental fitness as well providing opportunities for blossoming of their aesthetic qualities.
iv) To prepare students for all competitive examination by providing necessary guidance and career counseling.
v) To meet the needs of the students coming form socially and economically backward sections of community.
vi) To inculcate human values in students so that they grow as good citizens with strong social commitments.

2. History & Background of its Establishment:

     The college had its origin as the extension wing of the Khallikote College, Berhampur during the session 1978-79 and was housed in one part of the building of the Municipal High School situated at Aska Road. The extension wing was elevated into a full fledged independent institution from the session 1981-82 and was separated from khallikote college. It was renamed as Binayak Acharya College, Berhampur in 19984-85 in the loving memory of Late Shri Binayak Acharya, the former Chief Minister of Odisha. The college was shifted to its own building situated at haridakhandi, as suburb of Berhampur, after 31st October 1989. as per the decision of the Government vide Order No. 4E/A-42/89:EYS dated 31-07-1989, and a letter No. 30154 dated 22-05-2001 and Director Higher Education, Odisha, letter No. 52542 dated 02-06-2001, the higher secondary wing of the college is functioning separately as Binayak Acharya Junior college (inside the college campus) from the session 2001-2002. The college is accredited with C++ grade by NAAC during the session 2005-06.

3. Functions & Duties:

     This College has 14 Department. The works of H.O.D are under provision of principal for maintaining high profile Teaching Methodology. There are three Streams (Arts, Science & Commerce) in our college.

i) Healthy and disciplined atmosphere of the college.
ii) Good relationship between the teacher and the students.
iii) Teaching concept of share and care.
iv) Periodical assessment of students.
v) Guiding the students for All India Competitive Examinations.
vi) Organising Competitions among students in Essay, Debate, Song, Music, Drama and Athletic competition.
vii) Encouraging Students to join in NCC and NSS activities.

4. Working Hours both for Office & Public:

The normal Working Hours of the College is 07.15 A.M. to 04.15 P.M.
