Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Aim and Objectives of the Organization:

The main aim and objective of the organization is to develop the area and its people in almost all spheres.

The main objectives are given below.

a. To eradicate poverty.
b.
To give shelters to the BPL families having no homes under IAY and MO KUDIA.
c.
To give social security measures to the poorest of poor in providing Old Age Pension, Disable Pension and Widow Pension, BPL Rice, Antodaya Rice and Annapurna Rice.
d.
Provision of loans to the Self Help Groups to make them economically better up.
e.
Provision of 100 days works to the job seekers in a year to discourage bonded labor and to check the mobility of laborers to other states.
f.
Construction of Roads and Buildings for better communication and infrastructures.
g.
Free primary Education and of Mid Day Meal to encourage more attendance and discourage dropouts. To encourage girl child education by providing free books and dress. To provide safe drinking water to all villages through pipe water supply.
h.
To uplift the socio-economic condition of the SC/ST population.

2. Mission/ Vision:

     Mission of the Organization is service to the people at their door steps, 100 days work to the unskilled laborers available in the block area, completion of 'MO POKHARI' to make people self sufficient in economic sphere, transparency in Block administration

3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:

   The dream of Mahatma Gandhi "VillageSwaraj"came into force in the true sense of the term when 73rd amendment was passed in the parliament on 20th April 1993.Before that in 1961 three tier Panchayati Raj system was prevailed in Odisha in a dormant condition. The Panchayat Samiti was treated as the main executive tier .All the developmental works and anti poverty programmes were taken up for the benefit of rural people. For that reason Tangi-choudwar Block was established in the year 1963 and had been constantly implementing the govt programmes to eradicate poverty from the area. Now this block consists of 20 Grampanchayats having total population 136070 as per the 2001 census.

He is an additional hand to assist the BDO in administration. He is statutorily authorised to function as B.D.O in the absence of B.D.O . In addition to it the A.B.D.O is the P.I.O under RTI, Act-2005

Account Officer

He assist the B.D.O in financial matter by ensuring adhereance of financial rules & regulations before payment of any bill in this office

A.E/J.Es

Look into the developmental works of the Block and advice BDO on technical aspect of the works

GPEO/ PA

Look in to the Grampanchayat administration and its smooth functioning. Help SHGs to in the matter of loan and their training for better utilization of loan fund.

BSSO

Look into the social security measures such as selection of beneficiaries for OAP/ODP/ WP etc. and disbursement of the same to the genuine beneficiaries

WEO

Look into the Social Welfare of the downtrodden people like SC/ST. Programmes initiated for the betterment of their socioeconomic development. Premature Scholarship as well as cycles and dress are provided to the SC/ST students/ Girls students to encourage them on education

Look into the development of Pisciculture in the Block area and help the fish farmers in production of fish in more mechanized manner

CEO

He is the head in the functioning of Co-operative organization. He looks into the financial and administrative functioned to make co-operative societies healthier and active. By the way helps the marginal and small farmers by providing crop loans at marginal rate of interest.

SIS

He is the nodal officer of primary Education . He looks into the functioning of pry. Schools in the Block. Regular inspection carried out by him to develop the qualitative performance of the teachers.

IPO

He looks into the development of marginal and cottage industries in the Block area.

MI

He looks into the PDS matter of the Block.
