Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objective of the Public Authority:  

   To establish three tire Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) as institutions of self Government and to help them in making overall development of their respective areas. To provide all facilities for the economic upliftment of the rural poor.

2. Mission/ Vision of the Public Authority:

     To enable PRIs to Plan and implement scheme for the poverty alleviation programmes to achieve rural prosperity and ensure quality life through (PRIs).

3. Brief History and Background of the Establishment:

   Mathili Block is having its geographical area of 800 square Kms was established in a golden Morning on dtd. 26-01-1962 in Mathili District and attended post stage II on 01.01.1974. This Block is constituted with 20 G.P.s with 143 revenue villages and 247 wards covering from Boipariguda Block in the North to Malkangiri Block boarder in the south and Chatisgarh boarder in the West to Khairput & Kudumulgumma Block.

4. Allocation of Business:

This establishment helps the public for their development through various Govt. Schemes and progrmmes.

5. Duties of the Public Authority:

   Empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions an to provide Fund for the execution of development work and poverty alleviation programmes in rural areas.

6. Details of Service Rendered:

   The department provides basic services in critical areas under Finance Commission Grants which is not normally taken up under different ongoing schemes. This Department provides rural housing (IAY, Mo Kudia) meant for BPL poor and other needy families.

     This Office is located 45 Kms by road from Dist. Headquarter, Malkangiri & Sub Divisional Headquarters Malkangiri, 610 Kms Bhubaneswar( State Capital).

9. Working hours of Office and Public:

10 A.M. to 5 P.M. (except Sundays and Public Holidays). And as and when required.

10. Public Interactions: Very Amicable.

     Field Officers & Extension Officers of this Office used to move to the villages for interacting with the people regarding implementation of various plans and programmes of Govt.

11. Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

   Grievance is being hard at every quarter on each Saturday of the week fro 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Block Headquarters. Besides that in GNRM at the GP level on 1st & 16th of every month grievance petitions are received, including OAP, ODP, NFBS, applications and other problem like drinking water MDM, Agricultural activities are also discussed and remedial measures are being taken up instantly.
