Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

  1. Aim & Objectives and Mission/Vision of the Organization

The DSSO office has been created being bifurcated from DSWO Office, Bargarh during the Year 2015-16 and functioning as usual since 01.12.2015 in pursuant to order no.1407/Dt.l5.10.2015 of Department of SSEPD, Odisha. The Department is working for rehabilitation, empowerment & mainstreaming of the vulnerable groups of the society, PwDs, Senior Citizens, Widow, Transgender, Elderly women, Beggars& Lepers etc.

These are the aims and objectives of the Department:

  1. Rehabilitation, Empowerment & Mainstreaming of PwDs, Senior Citizens, Widow, Transgender, Elderly women, Beggars& Lepers etc.
  2. To monitor of schemes and to implement the same at Block, GP level through the various implementing agencies for the welfare of the above population.
  3. Monitoring of sanction & disbursement of Social Security Pension to the older persons, Widows, PwDs, Cured Leprosy Patients, Unmarried women 30 years & above, Divorcee women, Aids Patients, Widow of Aids Patients to ensure their Social Security.
  4. Convergence with different department to extend the benefit of different welfare schemes of Government to the above category of population.

    2. Mission/Vision:

The mission is to implementing the schemes for Persons with Disabilities, Transgender. Victims of Substance Abuse and Senior Citizens by networking and converging with Community based Organizations. NGOs. Banks. Universities. Businesses. Government Organizations, Professionals, Research Organizations and other stakeholders.

  1. Duties, Main activities / Functions:

This office has an elaborate field formation with District Social Security Officer (DSSO), Sub-divisional Social Security Officer (SSSO) in each sub-division to assists the Sub-Collector & Block Social Security officer (BSSO) along with Junior Clerk at the Block level under the administrative control of BDO to implement the social security scheme. Besides, one Programme Assistant has' been deployed under outsourcing basis at District, Sub-Division, Block & ULB level to assists in implementation of different programme.

  1. Allocation of Business:

The Government in SSEPD Department is providing funds under Central share & State share to District Social Security Officer, Nayagarh.

  1. Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:
    a. To Monitor, Supervise & Review of different programmes from time to time.

    b. To receive funds from Government in SSEPD Department & distribute among all B D.Os/EOs under various programme.

  2. Details of services rendered:
    i. Distribution of allotment of different Pension NSAP/ MBPY & NFBS

    ii. Provision of Banishree Scholarship/ Pre-matric. Post-matric scholarship to the PwDs & Top-class scholarship to the children of PwDs.
    iii. Marriage Incentive between PwD & able bodied
    iv. Distribution of Aids & Appliance to PwDs
    v. Organization of BBSA camp
    vi. Assessment camp for PwD

    7.Working Hours both for Office and Public:

10.00 AM to 1.30 PM & 2.00 P.M. to 5.30PM on each working day (Day office) and 07 00 A. M to 1.00 P.M. (without lunch break) in morning office.

8.Public Interaction, if any:

As per requirement of Public.

9.Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

Grievance Cell is functioning in the Collectorate, Boudh on every Monday and the grievances being heard by the Collector/ A.D M. Boudh. Any grievances received are disposed of in time.
