1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

Morning Hours: - 10.00 A.M.

Closing Hours: - 5.30 P.M.

 

 

 

1. Objective & Purpose of the Public Authority:

a) To give the information to the visiting Tourists.
b) Collection of Data.
c) Liaison with District Administration.
d) Participation in Fairs and Festival by Installing Tourism Stall, Distribution of Brochures, Folder, Literature etcetera on Odisha Tourism.
e) Advertisement through displaying hoarding, Way indicators, Signage etc.
f) Organization of Quiz Programme to create tourism awareness among the Students.
g) Approval of Hotel Projects, Tour Operators and Travel Agency.
h) Identification of new tourist spot.
i) To increase the tourist traffic to and extend their duration of stay in the state.
j) Any other as and when required.

2. Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority:

i) To attract more numbers of tourists to the district by promoting the tourists spot of the district by upgrading the infrastructural amenities.
ii) Putting hoardings, carrying information on district tourists spots and facilities available in the district.

3. Brief History of the Public Authority:

    The Tourist Office, Nayagarh was established on dated 01.11.2008. The Tourist Officer, Nayagarh is designated as Assistant Public Information officer vide G.O. No.346/ TSM dated 17.01.2009.

4. Duties of the public authority:

    The Duties of the Tourist Officer is to provide proper assistance to the Tourists visiting the State and timely implementation of Tourism Projects undertaken by the State Government for Promotion and Development of Tourism in the state.

5. Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:

i) Collection and Dissemination of information relating to the facilities in the shapes of Accommodation, Transport and Guide services available for the Tourist.
ii) Preparation of draft write-ups on places of interest of the District/ Area for projection.
iii) Preparation of itinerary for the visitors intending to visit the District/ Area in particular and state in general.
iv) Management of such facilities as has been created by the state Department of Tourism for the tourists in the District/ Area.

6. List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write-up on them:

i) Collection and Dissemination of information relating to the facilities in the shape of Accommodation, Transport and Guide Services available for the tourist.
ii) Preparation of Drafts write-ups on places of Tourist interest of his district/ Area for projection.
iii) Preparation of itinerary for the visitors intending to visit his District/ Area in Particular and state in general.
iv) Management of such facilities as has been created by the state Department of Tourism for the tourists in his District/ Area.
v) Liaison with the district authorities for effective maintenance of the facilities created by the Department of Tourism for the Tourists in his District/ Area.
vi) Liaison with careers like Railways, Road Transport, Airlines etc. located in his District/ Area.
vii) Liaison with Travel Agents, excursion Agents, Tour Operators and like Establishment for development of travel trade in his District/ Area.

viii) Organization of sale of the literature brought out by the State Department of Tourism for the purpose.
ix) Liaison with managements of private Hotels, Dharmasalas and like establishment located in his District/ Area for assisting the Tourists.
x) Liaison with Local Transport Operators for assisting the tourists.
xi) Accompany the visitors for the purpose of sight seeing and when required by the State Department of Tourism.
xii) Organization of local guides for the benefit of tourists.
xiii) Liaison with the local press for effective projection of the Tourism Potentials of the District/ Area.
xiv) Organization of Tourist fairs and Festivals in his District/ Area.
xv) Any other function as may be assigned by the Department of Tourism from time to time.

Seeking information on State and Indian Tourist Destination

8. Arrangements and methods made for Seeking Public Participation/ Contribution:

Visit of Photo-exhibition, Seminar, Debates, Fairs etc.

9. Mechanism available for monitoring the Service delivery and Public Grievance Resolution:

    There is no sub-ordinate officers for grievance under this office. The Tourist Officer himself shall take all possible steps to enquiry in to the matter as per necessity in earliest convenient dates within the stipulated period for providing information.
