To make provision for the planned development, improvement and expansion Barbil town so as to ensure their present and future inhabitants.

3. History & Background of Its Establishment:

After enactment of the Odisha Town Planning and Improvement Trust Act, 1956, the preparation of Master Plan gained momentum through Central Assistance. Planning Authority, for Barbil was constituted in appointing Special Planning Authority vide Notification No. 10084/UD, Dt.07.06.1968.

6. Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:

The Master Plan exercise requires various surveys, analysis of data/ information, preparation of plan with major proposals, preparation of report etc. As no staff has been appointed under this establishment, the Master Plan work is taken up by the Town Planning Unit, Keonjhar & S.P.A., Keonjhar. Regulations functions are attended by the staff of Town Planning Unit, Keonjhar & S.P.A., Keonjhar since there is necessity of disposal of individual cases in time. Preparation and implementation of development schemes are also attended by the Technical personnel of the Town Planning Unit, Keonjhar. along with available staff of the Special Planning Authority, Keonjhar.

Objections and suggestions are invited from the general public after public the Master Plan under Section 31(1), while chalking out any programme of development scheme and its implementation.

11. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

Opens on each working Saturday from 3.30P.M to 5.00P.M in day office and 11.30A.M to 1.00P.M in morning office.     

12. Working Hours Both for Office & Public:

Office: -7 hours i.e from 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M in day office and 6 hours i.e. from 7.00 A.M to 1.00 P.M in morning office on every working day.
Public: - Same as Office.

Master Plan

Anticipates the need of the town after reviewing the physical structure taking note of the development trends and proposed various strategies and land uses proposals to guide the orderly development of the town for promotion of health, safety, welfare and convenience to the people and community.  It also directs the physical development of the community and its environment in relation to socio-economic well being based on the present condition and prospects of the future growth of the town. Regulates the type of use permitted on the land and appropriate location for various land uses and limit development in the zones. It regulates the amount for permissible floor space.
