1. Brief History of the Public Authority:
Satyabadi Vihar commonly known as Satyabadi Bana Bidyalaya now Satyabadi High School is situated in the beautiful groove of Sakhigopal. It is about 20kms from Puri and 40kms from the capital city, Bhubaneswar. Precisely the school is located adjacent to famous Sakhigopal temple and about 1.5kms from national highway (Bhubaneswar-Puri Road) and Sakhigopal Railway station.

The school was established in the year 1909 in shape of middle English school with 19 students. It was initially functioning in Chhuriana-Bakula-Tamala groove in the bank of river Ratnachira as an open air school. The organizers were a band of young nationalist like Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Pandit Nilakantha Das, Pandit Godabarish Mishra, Acharaya Harihara Mishra and Pandit Krupasindhu Mishra and many other contemporary nationalist. The school was managed by a committee and Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das was the secretary of the committee.

The school was provisionally recognized as a high school in the year 1914 by University of Calcutta and permanent recognition was accorded to school in the year 1917. The goal was to convert the school as an ideal residential school. The hostel of the school has as many as 241 boarders out of total 370 students in the year 1918. The school acted as a nerve centre during independence struggle and the students and teachers not only participated in the freedom struggle in a most significant way but also actively contributed to the social evolution and services in the state.

The present student strength of the school is 418 having 10 teachers 04 other staff. The name of the school magazine is "RATNACHIRA". The hostel is still functioning. The school has NCC wing, Scout wing, Red Cross, Legal Literacy Club, Eco-club, Computer Education for students. The school is as far as possible is making all effort to maintain and preserve the spirit and tradition for which it was established.
