Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Objectives/Purpose of the Public Authority:
Acquisition of Land for Upper Indravati Irrigation Project for construction of Lift Canal System etc. as per the new RFCTLA R & R Act.

 

2. Mission/Vision statement of the Public Authority:
To provide irrigation facilities to the tune of 25,274.09 Hct. in the District of Kalahandi.

 

3. Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
Office of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Upper Indravati Irrigation Project, Kusumkhunti, Kalahandi has been created by the Govt. in Irrigation and Power Department, Odisha, Bhubaneswar (Now Water Resource Department vide Order No.39032 Dtd. 17.11.1979).

 

4. Duties of the Public Authority:
The main function of this office is to acquire private lands for construction of reservoir, Left and Right main canals including extension of Left and Right canals and Lift canal system of UIIP as per the L.A. Manual and Executive Instructions issued from time to time by Government.

 

5. Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
Implementation of Upper Indravati Irrigation Project including their Distributary system (i.e. Left & Right Main canal, Branch canal and Left & Right extension canals etc.) to provide irrigation facilities to the area coming under Project aya-cut in the District of Kalahandi.

 

6. Organizational structure Diagram at various levels namely State, Directorate, Region, District, Block etc. (Which ever is applicable):
