The main function of this institution is to provide irrigation to the command area through canals of projects in the locality.

Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

 

 

1. Objective / purpose of public Authority :-
The objective of Daha Irrigation Sub-Division, Bhanjanagar under Executive Engineer, Bhanjanagar Irrigation Rivision, Bhanjanagar is looking after Daha Irrigation Project, constructed over 'DAHA' & 'KALINGA NALLA' and is located near Village - Indagada, 15 Km. away from Bhanjanagar in the Ganjam District of Odisha. The catchment area of the project is 167 Sqkm. This Medium Irrigation Project had been completed during the year 1985 with a Vive storage capacity of 2195 ham.

 

2. Mission / Vision statement of the public Authority :-
This project is irrigating an ayacut of 4762.40 ha. through right distributary system and 1818.00 ha. through newly constructed left Distribution system cumulating a total ayacut of 6580.40 ha. in Khariff Irrigation and 960 ha. in Rabi Irrigation through right distribution system. This project has been creating the needs of farmers irrigation requirement of about 50 nos. of villages through its right and left canal net work system.

 

3. Brief History of the Public Authority & context of its formation :-
This sub-division was created since long back. The employee strength of this division in respect of non-technical staff & technical staff strength are shown separately.

 

4. Duties of the Public Authority:-
To repair and maintenance work of the reservoir, canal, residential buildings, non -residential buildings, roads on canal embankment under its jurisdiction with codal procedures rules of the Govt.

 

5. Main Activities / Functions of the Public Authority:-
Maintenance and repair of reservoir, canal, residential buildings, non-residential buildings and roads under its jurisdiction. Timely release of water for agriculture purpose as well as for drinking purpose. Further surveying, planning, estimating and supervision of new construction of works of canal including its structure. Also keeping & maintaining records of history major activities of the sub-division pertaining to reservoir in the command including photographs and video graphs, ensuring quality control on the works including quality control test & through quality control division & maintenance records thereof.

 

6. List of service being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write up on them:-
Until now this sub-division is providing water services to agriculture lands by releasing water through canal system during the khariff and rabi season with active participation of 11 nos. of Pani Panchayat functioning on the command area.

 

7. Expectation on the Public Authority form the Public for enhancing  its effectiveness & efficiency :-
The public Authority desires constructive cooperation from the public by extending their support & early execution of the works for creation of irrigation potential.

 

8. Arrangements & methods made for sacking public participation / construction:-
Any public is free to interact with the Sub-Divisional Officers & Section Officers (A.E / J.E) in the office during office hours taking prior permission just prior to meet.

 

9. Mechanical available for mentoring the service delivery & Public Grievance Resolution:-
The Sub-Divisional Officer, Daha Irrigation Sub-Division, Bhanjanagar is the P.I.O. of this Sub - division to render information to public under R.T.I. Act 2005 & the Executive Engineer is the 1st appellate authority to redress the grievances of the public.

11. Office Hours :-
10.00 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. (Lunch break - 1.30 P.M. to 2.00 P.M.) 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. in all working days except summer 7.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. without any lunch break from 10th April to 15th June.

 

Closing Hours :-
The Office remains closed beyond office hours normally. During emergency the office remains opened beyond office hours, Sundays & Holidays.
