Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1. Name of the Organization:
Its area has been extended to 32.40 square Kilometers after merger of PPL with the Municipality. This Municipality has been divided into 19 wards having 1314 nos. of holdings.
2. Function: Provide basic amenities like sanitation, road, drain, street light, water and Public Health facilities.
3. Duties: Upliftment of Urban Poor under NULM scheme, distribution of pension under IGNOAP, IGNWP,IGNDP, MBPY schems, providing benefits to the family of deceased poor person under NFBS Scheme, door to door collection of segregated waste, processing of collected waste to manure, cleaning of latrine tanks through mechanical way by using cesspool vehicles, collection & processing of plastic, glass, electronics item etc. at MRF being done under Swachha Bharat Mission & Solid Waste Management, providing affordable dwelling units to poor beneficiaries under PMAY (U) scheme, providing healthy and cheap meals @ Rs. 5.00 to poor & needy person under Aahaar Scheme, providing financial assistants to the family of deceased person to perform sudhi kriya instantly under Harischandra Sahayata Yojana, providing Marriage Certificates to newly wed couples, providing trade license to traders etc, providing financial assistance to the family of a deceased poor person below 60 yrs of age under National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), strengthening women under Mission Shakti by forming Self Help Groups, executing wage based progrms under MUKTA, controling stray dogs under Animal Birth Conrtrol (ABC) Progrms etc.

Municipal Council
The General election to Paradeep Municipality in respect of 19 wards held on the year 2022. Sri Basant Biswal has been elected as Chairperson through direct voting & Smt. Chhabilata Rout was elected as vice-Chairperson and the council is functioning since dt. 31.05.2022.
