Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:

 

Nursing plays a pivotal role in the health care delivery system of society. According to the international council of Nurses, nursing encompass autonomous and collaborative case of individuals of all age, family, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. It includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, the care of ill, disabled dying people, Advocacy, promotion of a safe environment, research, participation in shaping health policy and in patient health system management and education are also key nursing roles.

 

The aim and objectives of the Directorate of Nursing is to under the existing arrangement, the concerned authorities Directorate have little time to devote adequate attention to look in to affairs of Nurshing personnel as they are preoccupied with the multi administrative and scheme related activities. Keeping the above fact on view, Government have been pleased to create a separate Directorate in the Directorate of Nursing, Odisha with the director Nursing, Odisha as the Health & Family welfare Department
