This office comes under the Department of Water Resource, Govt. of Odisha. The main object of this institution is to Execution and Energisation of new Lift Irrigation and Bore Well Projects for Creation of Irrigation potential in the district.

Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objects of the Organization:
Odisha  Lift Irrigation Corporation  has been created  during the year  1973,  From the inception OLIC is executing Lift Irrigation Projects, in District obtaining financial help from the different Agency. At present new projects are mainly sanctioned out of NABARD assistance. After implementation of Pani Panchayat Act-2003, OLIC is not operating Lift Irrigation Projects and not charging any water tax. The Pani Panchayats are operating the Lift Irrigation Projects by themselves after taking over of projects from OLIC and execution of agreement with Distribution Company. The following works are now doing by OLIC.

2.  Mission/ Vision:
a)  Execution and energisation of new Lift Irrigation Projects for Creation of Irrigation potential in the district.
b)  Supervision of revival and repair works of Old temporary defunct L.I. Projects.
c)  Preparation of new scheme to install new Projects as well as repair of Old Projects.
d)  Delineation of Lift Irrigation ayacut.
e)  Formation and election of Pani Panchayat.
f)  Technical Guidance to Pani Panchayat during Operation.
g)  Implementation of training programme to office bearers of Pani Panchayat for sustainability and to follow Govt. guideline as per Pani Panchayat Act/ Rule-2003.
h) Capacity building of Pani Panchayat.
i) Implementing Govt. Plans/ Programmes fixed time to time.
j) Keeping Co-ordination between Distribution Company and Pani Panchayat for solving problems faced by them.

3.  History & Background of its Establishment:
Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation  has been created during the year 1973.  From theinception OLIC is executing L.I. Projects in district obtaining financial help from different agency. The Lift Irrigation Sub-Division consists of 4 field Sections. The detail status of field offices is as follows.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process
