O/O the Superintendent of Railway Police, Rourkela is located at Rourkela, Railway Colony, Odisha, PIN No-769013.

This office comes under the Department of Home, Govt. of Odisha.

The main function of this institution is to prevent & detect Crime & Criminals, investigation of COG Cases, enquiry in to UD Cases reported from the Railway areas & Railway colonies as well as from trains. To provide security to the rail passengers and VIPs/VVIPs. To maintain L & O situation in the Rly. areas.

 1. Aim & Objectives of the Organization:

 To prevent & detect Crime & Criminals, investigation of COG Cases, enquiry in to UD Cases reported from the Railway areas & Railway colonies as well as from trains. To provide security to the rail passengers and VIPs/VVIPs. To maintain L & O situation in the Rly areas.

 2. Mission/ Vision:

 To prevent & detect Crime & Criminals, investigation of COG Cases, enquiry in to UD Cases reported from the Railway areas & Railway colonies as well as from trains. To provide security to the rail passengers and VIPs/VVIPs. To maintain L & O situation in the Rly areas.

 3. History & Background of its Establishment:

 GRP Dist., Rourkela started functioning from the year, 1983 prior to 1983 the area & jurisdiction was under the administrative control of Superintendent of Railway Police, Rourkela.

 4. Allocation Performed to achieve the mission:

 Sincere steps are being taken to prevent crime & criminals and security to the rail passengers as well as VIPs travelling in trains. L & O situations are being maintained properly.

 5. Duties Performed to achieve the mission:

 Duties are being performed by the GRP personnel (Officers & Men) sincerely.

 6. Details of Services Rendered:

 Due to regular duties in running trains, reported of theft of passengers belonging are in control.

 24 hours for Police Station staffs & from 10 AM to 5 PM for the ministerial staffs of the office.

 Grievances are being taken from the public every day and necessary actions are being taken immediately.
