Introduction

Office of the Government SSD Higher Secondary School, Govindapally, Malkangiri is located at Govindapally, Malkangiri, Odisha.

This office comes under the Department of School & Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha.

The main function of this institution is to disseminate knowledge to the boys and girls students in different fields.

Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1) Brief History of the Public Authority:

Government (SSD) Higher Secondary School, Govindapally, Malkangiri was established by the ST & SC Development Department of Govt. Of Odisha in the year 2006 to facilitate higher education of naxal affected tribal students of Malkangiri districts. This institution was upgraded from High School which was established in the year 1976. It is situated near the State Highway No. at the outskirt of Govindapally and near about 50 Kms from Jeypore town the biggest commercial hub of the south Odisha. It is surrounded by the hills, streams and natural scenery.

The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co-operation of the people of Govindapally in general and Odisha Government in particular. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Mr. Munish Verma, Collector, Malkangiri on 22th august 2006. Since then the College has not looked behind. On one side of the town stands the temple of Lord Jagannath and on the other hand flowing garia river, learning in sylvan surrounding sprawling around more than 20 acre of land. To add to its beauty and serenity an original sal-forest and mountain stands adjacent to the college.

 The College started with 51 nos. of students 10 teachers & 08 nos. of nonteaching staff with +2 Science and Commerce classes. The college also has separate gents and ladies hostel with fully residential facility. This is a special institution in which 50%, 40%, and 10% seats are reserved for ST., SC. & general category respectively. Also the college has well equipped library and laboratory facilities. A special free coaching also provided to the ST & SC students for engineering. At Present there are 224 nos. of students are reading in our College, and the same nos. of teaching and Non-teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all round development of the institutions.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

 

1. What is the procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).
This is a government college and the Principal of the college takes decisions in various matters having discussions with different committees like, Disciplinary committee, Admission committee, Examination committee, purchase committee and Financial aid Committee etc as per the Government rules.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iv)]

All letters, public application, proposal received from government public Individual, Students and staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to concerned sections. Officers in Charge, committees for examination and submission of the compliance in the related files. The file duly routed through the different Officers in charge/ Bursars/ Heads of the concerned Departments are put up before the Principal for approval/ sanctions after which being despatched with number and date.
