This office comes under the Department of Revenuce & Disaster Management, Govt. of Odisha.

The function is to  collect the stamp duty and registration fees from land sellers and collect the search & inspection from the applicant for issue of encumbrance certificate.

1. Objectives/ Purpose of the Public Authority:

Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority this is an old organization of the state operating since 1885. The law on registration was enacted on the year 1864 (Act XVI of 1864) the aims and objectives of the organization are as follows.

i) To registar document such as conveyance gift, mortgage, lease, Release, settlement will Bond etc. along with marriage.
ii)
To offord facilities to people by providing service against any inquiry to fight of property by way of loss or destruction of documents and transactions relating to immovable property. This organization is one of the key agencies of Government in terms of Revenue Collection.

iii)
To provide public evidence of certain transaction.

iv)
To offord Publicity to the transaction.

v)
To secure conclusive guarantee of the Authenticity of deeds.

vi)
To protect citizen from being deceived by entering in to transactions an relating to properties previously disposed of.

2. Mission/ Vision:

To provide service to the general public on registration of documents and other related activities on the guidelines of the I.G.R. Government and district Registration.

The registration office at Basudevpur has been operative since 02.12.1970. The juridiction of the office covers 224 revenue villages including 21 NAC of Basudevpur & Basudevpur Tahasil and the Police station under its area of functioning are
