  1. Particulars of Organization, Functions and Duties:

The office of the Deputy Director, Information and public Relations (Central Division) Cuttack is the Zonal Office of the Information & Public Relations Department Government of Odisha Bhubaneswar. The Information & Public Relations Department is a vital Department of Government, it functions as a link between people and the Government. Its aims and objectives is to educate the rural folk on the plans and programmes of the Government and caters feedback on proper implementation and participation of the people at large. For better supervision, coordination of its field functionaries the Government in I. &. P.R. Department have created the Zonal Offices in three RDC Zonal Headquarters at Sambalpur, Berhampur and Cuttack. Cuttack Zone covers 11 District coming under RDC Division Cuttack including Bhubaneswar a Publicity District. The Office of the Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations, Cuttack is functioning since 14.1.1994 to supervise the Publicity work of eleven Public Relations Districts of Central Division, Cuttack.

Power & Duties

The Deputy Director is the Head of Office and Drawing Disburshing Officer in respect of his office having supervisory power of its Subordinate Offices like the work of DI & PRO and other Sub-Ordinate Offices under Central Zone.

In course of supervision, inspect the offices, distribute priced publications received from Govt., record the PARs of Group 'A' and 'B' Officers and Countersign the CCRs of Group 'C' employees, Supervises and guides the DI & PROs during VVIP programmes like visit of Prime Minister of India, Vice-President and President of India as when required, inquire the dispute cases under this zone as per direction of Government.
