O/o the Sambalpur District Cooperative Central Bank, Sambalpur is located at Sambalpur, Odisha.
This office comes under the Department of Co-operation, Govt. of Odisha.
The main function of this institution is to catering to the needs of the members societies and the area people by implementing various schemes of both state and central government, as per the directives of NABARD and RBI from time to time. Moreover, it aims at the socio-economic upliftment of the people of the area.

Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1.Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
The Sambalpur Dist. Co-op. Central Bank Ltd., Bargarh, came into operation after merger of Bargarh Central Co-operative Bank and Sambalpur Central Co-op. Bank from 26th June 1956 bearing Registration No.57/SM. It is a State partnered Bank registered under the OCS act and rules. After fulfilling all the stipulated norms of Reserve Bank of India, It has been issued with the Banking License bearing No. RPCD.Bhubaneswar/26/2011-12 dated 01.06.2012 by the Reserve Bank of India. Four (04) Districts namely; Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Deogarh comprising of Seven (07) Revenue Sub-Divisions are covered under the area of operation of the Bank. The said 4 Districts are consisting of 3475 No. of Inhabited Villages having total population of 3065 thousand as per 2001 census. Out of the total population there are 444 thousand agriculture families in total as per latest Doorstep Campaign entitled "Cooperative at your Doorstep" conducted during November-December, 2010. The Bank is functioning with 34 Branches and the Head Office. 588 Cooperative Societies, 02 other Institutions are enrolled as members apart from the State Government. Likewise, 11999 in total are enrolled as Nominal members as on 31.03.2012. Out of the aforesaid 588 Cooperative Societies, 164 PACS/ LAMPCS/ FSCS only are at present functional. Amongst the aforesaid total 444 thousand agriculture families 388 thousand families are enrolled as member, which constitutes 87%. The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) issued so far to the enrolled member is 341 thousand, which constitutes 88%. The Bank is governed by the OCS Act & Rules, Banking Regulation Act and as such the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Odisha, NABARD and RBI are the regulatory Authorities.

Usually, the Management of the bank is being headed by the elected Committee of Management as per the provision of OCS Act and Rules. But, at present due to dissolution of the elected Committee of Management, the Deputy Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Bargarh Division has assumed charge of the Management in-charge of the bank from dt.07-08-2012 afternoon in persuance of Order No.-12445/Legal-3-A dt.24-7-2012 of the Commissioner-cum-Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
