O/o the Surajmal College Rampella, Rengali, Sambalpur is located at Rengali, Sambalpur, Odisha.
This office comes under the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha.
The basic objective of the institution is to impart Higher Education to poor students of this backward area and to inculcate the sprit of competition in the students both at state and national level.

1. Brief History and Background of the Establishment:
Some educationally conscious elite of this area felt the need to have an educational institution in this area to spread knowledge among the students of this rural area, the college is situated in between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda. The establishment of the college was possible due to the effort put in by the people of this area, since its inception in the year 1983 the college has been imparting education to the rural, financially backward student who could not afford to take admission in the towns like Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.
The college functions in its own building; it is a co-educational institution with the strength of 768 students which is the sanction strength of both +2 & +3. The college has completed 29 years. It is continuously striving to spread the light of knowledge.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

Decision making is as per rules laid down by Odisha Education rule, instructed by the Directorate of Higher Education, Odisha, CHSE, Odisha, Governing Body which has the Sub-Collector, Sadar, Sambalpur as President and in consultation with various committees constituted of staff member (details of committee in Manual -8) and the Principal.
