Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

   To provide information to the general public about different works of Govt. and maintain relations with them.

2. Mission/Vision:

   To work as eye and ear of the Dist. Administration as well as Govt.

3. History and Background for its Establishment:

   This office was incepted on 01/04/1993 after Bargarh was declared as a district being separated from the mother district Sambalpur.

4. Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:

   Collection and dissemination of information.

5. Main Activities/ Functions:

   National Day celebration, networking with Dist. Administration on different developmental activities and make publicity.

6. Details of Service rendered:

   Information Centre and Reading Room are running under this authority for benefit of youngsters, students and general public.

7. Arrangements for Citizens' Interaction/ Public Participation:

   Full cooperation from the general public including immediate intimation in case of problem if any. Information Centre and Reading Room is working effectively and efficiently. National Day and other important function of the region are being celebrated.

8. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

   Every Saturdays (except holidays) are scheduled for hearing public grievance. I.C. & R.R. work is updated through magazines and papers.

   Bargarh district comprises of two sub-divisions namely Bargarh and Padampur. Two offices of I. & P.R. Department are functioning.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1. What is the procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other rules/regulations etc. can be made):

   Files are being processed by the Concerned Dealing Assistant through the DI&PRO to the Collector through the Additional District Magistrate, Bargarh and decisions are taken up according to law.

2. What are the documented procedures/ laid down procedures/ Defined Criteria/ Rules to arrive at a  particular decision for important matters? What are different levels through which a decision process moves?

   Through different rules, regulations and circulars issued from State Government from time to time. The levels of a decision process moves through DI&PRO level and Addl. District Magistrate level.

3. What are the arrangements to communicate the decision to the public?

   Through correspondence and Press notes.

4. Who are the Officers at various levels whose opinions are sought for the process of decision making?

   DI&PRO, A.D.M. and Collector.

5. Who is the final authority that waits the decision?

   Collector.

  Interactive workshop, Training, Sensitization, Seminars

 

                        In pursuance with the directive of Govt, In I & P R Deptt. vide Order No. IPR-RTI-MISC- 0001- 2021  3682/ IPR DT. 31.03.2022, Interaction workshop, Training, Seminars have been organized in virtual mode all over the District to Sensitize the PIOs, APIOs, 1st Appellate Authorities, NGOs, SHG Members, Senior citizens, Doctor, Anganwadi workers, Executive Officers of G.Ps.  In the Interactive workshops there was participatory discussion which was more fruitful in connection with pros and cones on RTI act.
