Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:

Tahasil organization is the main unit of Revenue Administration. The aims and objective of the organization is to maintain the record of rights and village maps up-to-date. In addition to this, the Tahasil organization is also to look the collection of land revenue & safe guard the Govt. property.

2. Mission / Vision Statement of the Public Authority:

The mission of the organization is to help the natural calamity stricken people at the time of the natural calamity in order to ameliorate the woes and suffering through relief operation & rehabilitation. This organization also thinks of providing house sites & agricultural land to all home stead less & landless persons.

     The vision of the organization is to redress the grievance of the public such as issue of certified copy, mutated R.O.R other miscellaneous certificates through the computer. Moreover this organization aims at registration and mutation of the land through single window system by the application of the computer.

3. Brief history of the public authority and context of its formation:

This Tahasil started functioning w.e.from 01.04.1982 after bifurcation from Titilagarh Tahasil. As per Notification No. DRC-11/08-33533/R&DM, Dated 06.08.2008 of R & DM Deptt., Odisha, Bhubaneswar, there are 2 (two) nos. of new Tahasil namely Bangomunda & Muribahal have been created after bifurcation of this Tahasil.

4. Duties of the Public Authority:

To provide effective land administration at the grass root level.

5. Main activities/ functions of the Public Authority:

a. To keep Land Records up to date (R.O.R & Maps).
b.
Issue of miscellaneous certificate.

c.
Collection of Land Revenue.

d.
Provide relief & rehabilitation during natural calamity.

e.
To lease out Govt. land.

f.
To evict encroachers of Govt. land.

g.
To distribute land Pass Book to the Tenant.

6. List of services being provided by the public authority with a brief write-up on them:

a. Mutation of holdings.

Partition of holding among co-sharers.

Conversion of agriculture land for non-agriculture use.

Lease of Govt. land to Home stead lease & Land less persons.

This Tahasil consists of 2 (two) R.I Circles with 104  nos. of Villages.
