1. Brief History of the public Authority and context of its Formation:

The Deputy Director of Agriculture Office, Sambalpur is established during the year- 1962 in its won departmental building situated inside the IADP campus Farm Road Modipara, Sambalpur. This office comes under the administrative control of Director of Agriculture & Food Production, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. As the district comes under the major Hirakud command area the Agriculture Department has been playing a vital role to increase Agriculture Production & Productivity with improving the Financial status of the Farmers of the district by adopting New technology.

2. The duties of the officials are mainly based on extension activities for increasing production & Productivity through the field functionaries:

The duties of the ministerial staff are to keep records and documents and preparation of reply in proper and systematic manner.
