Administrative Appointing and disciplinary authority in respect of Sub- Inspectors.
Transfer and posting of Officer's upto the rank of Inspectors and equivalent rank and Ministerial officers of district cadres within the Range.
Can Order opening of Beat House temporarily by redistribution of staff as per PMR-136 (c)  for the purpose of patrolling in the area.

Financial

As per delegation of Financial Powers O.G.F.R.

Statuary

As per Section-36 Cr. P.C. he is the Officer-in-charge of all the Police Stations within the Range, Appellate Authority in respect of disciplinary proceeding upto the rank of S.I. Accepting Authority in respect of CCRs upto the rank of Addl. S.P. Reviewing Authority in respect of CCRs upto the rank of S.P.

Duties

Over all supervision of Police administration in the Range.

Duties of Staff of DIG, NCR, Talcher

Powers

Administrative- To maintain office files, Registers,Records, deal with all letters, reports/returns, prepare comments on TD of Inspectirs to the rank of S.P. under the Range.

Financial- To prepare all types of Estt. Bills, maintain all accounts Records & Registers, put up GPF sancion orders(consolidated) received from the districts, check up/ sanction of retirement benefits to the SIs, sanction of halt more than 10 days out of Hdqrs.

Statuary

Duties

To attend to all correspondences, relating to the administration of the districts of the range and place papers before the D.I.G. for orders and take action accordingly.
