Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Name of the Organization:

District Welfare Office, Collectorate, Ganjam.

2. Aim and Objectives of the Organization:

This office is a part of Collectorate, Ganjam and related to Govt. of Odisha, ST & SC Development, Department, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. This is the Nodal Department for formulating plans, policies and programmes for development of ST/SC persons in the District through this office.

3. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

Collectorate Grievance cell (Gl & Misc.) Section held on each Monday.

4. Working hours both for office and public:

Day Office- 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M
Morning Office- Does not arise

The following schemes/ matters are dealt in this office:

i) Supervision and Monitoring of 41 SSD School i.e. 1 High Schools, 3 Residential Sevashram, 3 Ashram School, 34 Sevashram.
ii) Establishment of Sevaks of Residential Schools/ Ashram Schools & Sevashrams.
iii) Pre Matric Scholarship to the student of SSD Schools.
iv) Post Matric Scholarship to SC/ST student of all aided & recognized Educational/ Technical and other equivalent institutions of this District.
v) Merit-cum-Poverty Scholarship to the student of OBC & SEBC category.
vi) Scholarship to the students of OBC & Minorities categories.
Vii) Pre- Matric Scholarship to the students whose parents are engaged in unclean occupation.
Viii) Atrocity case matter (on SC/ST people).
ix) Inter caste Marriage between SC & General.
x) Forest Right Act,2006 i.e issue of patta to the eligible SC/ST person under Forest Right Act.
xi) ORV Act matter.
Xii) Loan to SC & ST/ SEBC & Minority people.
Xiii) Project proposal of NGOs and Vos relating to ST & SC Dev. Deptt.
Xiv) Supervision of all SSD activities of Blocks through WEOs.
