Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]
1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
The Main Objective of Tahasil Establishment is Collection of land Revenue, updation of Records of Right, Disposal of various Revenue Cases and Protection of the landed Properties of Govt.
2. Mission/ Vision:
a. Protection of Govt. land.
b. Updation of Records of Rights.
c. Disposal of different types of Revenue Cases.
d. Identification of Encroachments and their removal.
e. Distribution of surplus unobjectionable Govt. land to the eligible Homestead less Beneficiaries.
f. Computerization of land Records.
g. Issuance of Miscellaneous Certificates.
h. Redresal of Public grievances.
i. Executive Magisterial assignments.
j. Performing important duties during Natural Calamities.
k. Duties of Miscellaneous Nature etc.
3. Brief History and Background of the Establishments:
This Barang Tahasil is functioning independently from 1.5.2008 in the office premises of Barang Block bifurcation from mother Tahasil of sadar Cuttack.

6. Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:
As stated Para 5 above.
7. Details of Service Rendered:
This Department and its employees used to work as per rules and regulation framed by the Govt. in O.R.M. 1964 and other relevant acts and rules meant thereof as well as orders and circulars issued by the State Govt. from time to time.
8. Citizen Interaction:
Tahasil office is a bottom level hierarchy of Revenue administration public/ citizens are direct access to this Office every time. The field functionaries also direct access to the public in respect of different official works.

10.Map of the Office Location:
This Barang Tahasil is now Situated & functioning 2 kms away from Barang Railway Station. The New building of Barang Tahasil is under Construction at Naranpur of Trisulia Chhaka.
11. Working Hour both for Office & Public:
Generally the Office Functions from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. with half an hour lunch break from 1.30 P.M. to 2 P.M. on all working days and on emergency functions rounded the clock. During summer season the office functions from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. without lunch break. 12.Public Interaction if any: From 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on all working days.
13. Grievance Redressal Mechanism:
On every Wednesday Tahasildar used to hear and dispose of the grievance of the Public. One Grievance Cell has been opened to monitor the grievances Cases.
