1. About the College:
The institutions had its self-effacing establishment at Bargarh with a small strength 31 students in the year 2003. Accomplishing many milestones in its short nine years journey, it is an ISO certified key institution with its campus spread over an area of 5 acres beside NH-6 (Connecting Mumbai to Kolkata) at Vikash Enclave, Barahguda Canal Chowk, Bargarh, imparting quality education to about 896 students both day scholars and residential The college imparts education in CHSE pattern to students of +2 Ist Year and IInd Year in science and Commerce. The college is permanently recognized to DHE, Odisha and affiliated to CHSE, Odisha. The achievement of VJC is also magnificence. Just in nine years of its establishment, it has already produced outstanding results in academics and co-curricular activities in consecutive years. In academics it has already exhibited its superiority in the CHSE Board Examinations 2008 and 2010 by producing four students in the TOP-20 State Ranks. Shriti Kansal in State 6th Rank-2008 and Madhuri Agrawal in State 17th Rank-2008, Abinash Puhan- State -17th Rank-2010 and Kishan Agrawal- State-20th Rank have brought glory for the institutions. In its journey of nine years, the college has already published TEN issues of News Letter 'The Talent' to publish the all round dexterity, expertise, proficiency and pragmatic capabilities of Vikashites and Four Issues of Annual Literary Magazine 'The Instinct' with all sorts of literary creativity. The college has been enlivened with basic modern amenities so as to nurture an ambiance of joy flair and festivities. The institute relishes the natural beauties and bounties of the sylvan surroundings around it. An atmosphere of tranquility and serenity tunes the spirit of learning of each student.

With borders disappearing in a swiftly shrinking world, education takes on a universal outlook. Vikash Junior College is one of the most illustrious educational institutions in Odisha as on date. It has its vision to be an academic institution in dynamic equilibrium with its social, cultural, and economic environment striving continuously for excellence in education, research, and technology. Being an excellent academic centre, it has established a standard that builds a foundation for lifelong learning, workplace skills and citizenship to educate the scholars to the fullest potential and apply their knowledge in life.

The College imparts education at +2 level in Science & Commerce with 384 seats in Science & 64 seats in Commerce.
