Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Objective/ Purpose of Public Authority:

     Dist. Welfare Officer, Kenjhar is working for Socio-Economic Development of the ST&SC people & to develop the educational status of the ST/SC peoples in the district.

2. Mission/ Vision statement of the Public Authority:

     It aims at bringing about a radical charge in the life style of the most under privileged & vulnerable section of the District through various Socio-Economic Development of the ST&SC people & to develop the educational status of the ST/SC etc though educational institutions.

3. Brief History of the Public Authority:

     This Public Authority D.W.O. was established in 10th February, 1950. It is working under the direct supervision of ST & SC Development Deptt., Govt. of Odisha Bhubaneswar since the date of its formation.

4. Duties of Public Authority:

     Socio-Economic Development of the ST & SC people & to develop the educational status of the ST/SC peoples in the district.

5. List of Services being provided by the Public Authority:

     Since Dist. Welfare Office, Keonjhar is being taken the various activities to develop the Socio-Economic status of the people of the district i.e., in education, atrocity, N.G.O. (social development), Financial Assistance by providing S.E.B.C./ OBC loan , Inter-caste marriage etc.

     For effective implementation of various schemes which are being implemented under the supervision of DWO active participation & Co-operation of Public is highly required.

8. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

      All the dealing Assistants deal with the various Public works relating to education and other scheme (Assigned work) In review meeting, disposal is monitored, by D.W.O..

     Dist. Welfare, Office, Keonjhar Po/Dist-Keonjhar. It is working under the supervision of ST & SC Development Deptt., Govt. of Odisha, BBSR. It is executing the works like Forest Right Works, School matter, distribute the Atrocity money, supervising the N.G.Os through all the 13 Blocks by the W.E.Os of the 13 Blocks.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

The procedure can be described both in narrative form and through Flow Process Chart. In narrative form the stages through which a proposal passes, the levels at which it gets examined and the final authority to which it has to go for approval may be explained.

The Flow Process Charts can give a comprehensive process as may be seen from the following illustration of disposal of letters.
