1. History & Background of Its Establishment: a. The College Crest: The genesis of Kalinga Bharati Residential College, Cuttack is the time blending of unflinching effort and noble desire of some leading intellectuals of the locality for the creation and dissemination of value based education in this rural area thereby bringing social change and development. a. To facilitate quality education for the poor down trodden and needy meritious students of this area. b.To bring Higher Education to the every door step of the people and to bridge rural-urban gap with strong determination. c. To create facilities of employment for the students. d. To instill a deep sense of social responsibilities by encouraging voluntary service. e. To strengthen traditional culture values. 2. Aim & Objective of the College: The main objective of this institution is to disseminate knowledge to the students in different fields. Simultaneously this institution also aims at the overall development of the students, physical, mental and moral. Games and Sports are an integral part of this institution which inspires the students to be physically fit. There are also many societies and associations related to social service and cultural programmes. 3. Address of the College: Kalinga Bharati Residential College, At : Pira Bazar, P.o : Vanpur, Dist : Cuttack Pin: 253011, Phone: 0671-2348762/ 2348775, E-Mail id: principal@kbrc.edu.in About the College: Kalinga Bharati Residential College is started with a vision to impart Quality education and build-up the personality of the children and make them worthy citizen of this country. The advisory board, comprising of eminent educationalists and heads of educational institutions were instrumental in framing the guidelines of the college. This need of an exclusive institution to import quality education to +2 Science & Commerce students motivated Asha Memorial Trust and Padhee's Tutorial Pvt. Ltd. to establish a modern "Gurukul" named as Kalinga Bharati Residential College (KBRC). Applications for the post of Principal, Vice-Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff were called for through advertisements in all the leading newspapers and the selection committee decided on the staff of the college based on CHSE norms. Wide publicity was given regarding the excellent infrastructure, buildings, spacious playgrounds and aims and objectives of the College. The intake capacity of 64 seats approved by Govt. of Odisha was filled up within no-time, subsequently Government has enhanced the capacity of the college to 256 seats during the academic session 2006-07 and enhanced to 512 intake capacity for the session 07-08. Subsequently, the +2 Commerce course has been introduced with intake capacity of 128 seats for the session 2008-09. On 18th July '05, the College started to function and ever since it has been growing in leaps and great strides. With efficient, highly qualified and experienced teaching staff and a dynamic and capable Principal having supportive management there was no stone unturned to give a strong footing. Remedial classes for the weak students are conducted on regular basis. Students are challenged with activities like dance, singing, painting, elocution, debate and games. A new building with 3 classrooms (having 64 capacity each) and a new spacious play ground just opposite to the first building and premises has been provided from the very first day; Students from different parts of Odisha, neighboring States of Jharkhand & Chhattisgarh and far of States like Manipur took admission. Looking into the excellent Infrastructure & Teaching qualities of KBRC, students preferred to join here instead of other established & reputed Institution of neighbouring States. A computer laboratory and a spacious library were set up from the 1st day itself, with a view to enrich student's volatile mind. The fully functional Laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Information Technology & Electronics were also provided, where the students were given hands on experience to visualize the theoretical knowledge imparted in the classes and illuminate the core of the mind to explore innovative idea for practical knowledge. Along with academic pursuance in building up the standards of students more extra-curricular activities are being introduced. A science laboratory, gymnasium, indoor games recreation room, permanent stage and extra sports equipment are some of the important additions to the infrastructure. The current year has been exciting and challenging with sanctioned strength increasing to results the demand and greater vision seen. The speaking skills of students are given importance and more emphasis on discipline is stressed. Regular Sunday interactions Sessions with Eminent Personalities are conducted to develop the student's insight to the future world through such achievers eyes. All the activities of the first year were carried out along with the addition of regular project work and are planning for participation in inter-College competitions with 3 - in - 1 approach to inculcate a habit of inquiry and composite with material and state level Entrance Exams. The highlight of the year's activities shall be the Annual Day Celebration when students shall perform a variety of cultural activities. The college has taken enrollment into the Bharat Scouts and Guides. During the year other activities are included like sports competitions, Essay writing, debates, cooking, elocution, extempore speech, painting, handwriting, story telling, singing &, dance, karate, music, rangoli, kite-flying and fancy dress. An important feature during the year is the regular 'Parents Teachers Meeting' which is conducted annually when parents are given an opportunity to participate in intensive way to express their views and have fellowship and fun.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

1. Who are the Officers at various levels whose opinions are sought for the process of decision making?
This is a Non-Govt. Aided College. The principal of the college takes decisions in various matters in consultation with different committees like admission committees, Examination committee, purchase committee etc. as per Govt. rules. However, the Sub-collector, Jagatsinghpur the President of the G.B is being consulted in Policy matters.

Any letter, Public application, proposal received from Government Public Individual, Students and staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to concerned sections. Officers in Charge of the committees and submission of the compliance in the related files. The file duly moved through the different Officers in Charge/ Bursars/ Heads of the concerned Officers I/C are put up before the principal for approval/ sanctions after which being dispatched with number and date.
