Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Brief History of the Public Authority:
Established in 1979 Kishorenagar College is situated at the heart of Kishorenagar, 5 Kms. away from Somepur on Cuttack Paradeep Road in the District of Cuttack. It is one of the leading Degree Colleges impacting educations at both +2 & +3 levels. This apart it has been striving hard with sincere commitment to achieve its goal and mission for ensuring quality education. The College being affiliated to CHSE & Utkal University, Odisha initially imparted teaching in I.A. which was later on converted to +2 Arts Stream. With the march of time +2 Science and +3 Degree in Arts & Science were introduce in 1989, 1988 & 1993 respectively. Honours teaching facilities in History, Pol. Science, Education, Economics, Philosophy, Odia, English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany & Zoology are also available. It is also accredited by NAAC under 2(f) & 12 (b).
2. Aims & Objectives of the Public Authority:
Being a rural-bred institution it primarily imparts quality education with a lofty aspiration to achieve its aims & objectives as below.
i) To make this institution blossom into an ideal one through access to higher education from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge and from unknown to the known.
ii) All round development of Body, Mind and Soul of the Learners.
iii) To develop the inherent qualities of young learners.
iv) Increasing the sense of social and civic responsibilities.
v) Inculcating the spirit of true citizenship.
vi) Nourishing human values and promoting the sense to preserve Indian Culture and Tradition.
vii) Promoting scientific attitude, temper and rational thinking.
viii) Developing aesthetic sense, Sportsmanship and Leadership.
3. Strength of the Public Authority:
At present the Institution has been impacting teaching to 800 Students in total at both +2 & +3 Streams in a healthy and peaceful atmosphere. It provides teaching facilities in 08 subjects at +2 Arts Stream, 08 subjects at +2 Science Stream, 08 subjects at +3 Arts /Science Streams with Honours facilities.
4. Main Activities/Functions of the Public Authority:
This Institution is a full aided College with GIA (State and UGC Scale) & 100% Block Grant baring a few serving under Management. It is managed and controlled by statutory & non statutory bodies as prescribed by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha. Basing on its academic reputation, Co-curriculum activities, quality of Institutional Management and responsiveness of administrative structure, this institution is totally committed to its aims & mission and taking a lot of care in turning out a sizeable number of quality students.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process
[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]
1. Who are the officers at various levels whose opinions are sought for the process of decision making?
Ans: This is a Non-Govt. Aided Degree College under 254- category. The Principal of the College takes decisions on various matters in consultation with different Committees like Advisory, Admission, Examination, Purchase Committees. Besides the Sub-Collector, Cuttak Sadar and President, G.B. is consulted on policy matters.

Any letters, Public applications, proposals received from Government, Public individuals, Students and Staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to concerned sections.Officers in Charge, Committees for examination and submission of the compliance by the concerned Officers I/C are put up before the Principal for approval/ sanctions after which they are dispatched with number and date.
