Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]
1. History & Background of Its Establishment:
AIMS College of +2 Science, an ideal Residential-cum-Day Scholar Educational Institution was founded by Basanta-Surya Educational and Charitable Trust, Sambalpur during the academic session 2009-10 with a view to providing an innovative and strategic approach, aimed at introducing basic fundamentals and concept in a very understandable manner through its various programmes. The college was started functioning with effect from 13th August, 2009 after obtaining permission for +2 Science from Dept. of Higher Education, Odisha vide Office order No. 4890/ RDE, date: 11.09.09 of the Regional Director of Education, Sambalpur with sanctioned strength 128 seats in the subject English, MIL (Or/ Hn/ Alt. Eng/ Sans.), Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and 64 seats each in Information Technology and Computer Science. It got its first temporary Recognition from the Dept. of Higher Education, Odisha; vide office order No. 75/ RDE, date: 04.01.10 of the R.D.E., Sambalpur.
Basically, the three factors (AIMS) envisioned and kept in view before us, such as Academic upliftment, Infrastructural Development Modulation in Teaching-Learning Process and a system. Beside, providing intensive teaching for the prescribed curriculum at CHSE level, innovative testing techniques are also adopted to prepare students for competitive examinations such as IIT, JEE, AIEEE and Medical Entrance examination.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process
[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]
1. What is the Procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).
This is a Residential college and the B.S.E.C Trust takes decisions in various matters having discussions with other Trustees. For the Academic matters, the Principal takes decisions having discussion with different committees like, Admission Committee, Examination Committee etc.

Any letter, Public application, proposal received from Government Public Individual, Students and staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to O.I.C. for compliance with prior approval of the Trust before replies are put up before the Principal after which despatched with number and date.

Being an Educational Institution, the college is governed by Rules, Regulations etc. prescribed by the Government of Odisha, Higher Education Department/ Director Higher Education/ CHSE, Odisha on Academic matters and as regards to financial matter and other administrative matters, the college is governed by the rules and regulation of the Trust.
