Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Brief History of the Public Authority:

     Jashipur, the gateway of Similipal Biosphere is proud of its apex academic institution i.e. Jashipur College, situated on a hill top in a campus sprawling on nearly 10Acres of land by the side of river Khairi Bhandan. The college was established in the tear 1978 and and has been discharging the noble worl of disseminating knowledge among the inhabitants of Jashipur valley and that of the mountain dwellers around he area. The college has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 2003

     Jashipur college is the proud product of the pioneering efforts of some education loving gentlemen who ably supported, assisted and financed by the whole population of Jashipur for this noble effort. As a result the college took its birth with a modest beginning at the premises of the local Girls High School. Since then the college has not looked behind. It has progressed and grown with years to the present position of an ideal Degree college in Arts, Science and Commerce with Vocational Education facility at +2 level.

     The college introduced the Arts faculty in intermediate stage in 1978-79 which has extended subsequently up to the Degree level in 1987, with honours facility in History and Political Science from the academic session 1992-93 and Odia from 1993-94. +2 Classes in science introduced in 1988-89 and +3 stream of Science from the academic session 2000-2001. Commerce stream in the degree level has been started from the session 2010-11.

     The college is affiliated to CHSE, Odisha for +2 stream and to North Odisha University for +3 stream. The College has also obtained U.G.C affiliation under section 2F & 12B act on dated 01.02.1992. Since then the college has availed U.G.C assistance under different schemes & utilized the same for development of the college with public contribution & assistance from other sources the College has grown into a sizable institution catering to the need of a large numbers of students.

     The college has arrived at this present status of excellence academically and conducting examinations as per rules due to dedicated team work of the teaching and non teaching staff and constant support and encouragement from the enthusiastic public, co-operative alumni & the active G.B of the College for which we could be able to face NAAC successfully in 2009.The members of Jashipur College family are committed to strive hard to reach still greater heights of excellence in Higher education thus thereby fulfil the aspiration and expectation of the locality.

Closing Hours: - 5.30 P.M.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1. What is the procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).

     This is a Non-government college and the Principal of the college takes decisions in various matters having discussions with different committees like, U.G.C Committee , Disciplinary committee Admission committee, Examination committee, purchase committee and Financial aid Committee etc as per the Government rules/ University rules/ UGC guidelines.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

[Section-4(1) (b) (iv)]

     All letters, public application, proposal received from government, public Individual, Students and staff are being entered in the diary register and referred to concerned section officers in Charge, committees for examination and submission of the compliance in the related files. The file duly routed through the different Officers in charge/ Bursars/ Heads of the concerned Departments are put up before the Principal for approval/ sanctions after which being despatched with number and date.
