Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1) Aim & Objectives of the Public Authority:

     Kanpur Anchalika Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur is a Private-Aided-College imparting education at Higher Secondary (+2) in Arts & Science and at graduation levels. The main objectives of the Institution are:

a. To provide access of qualitative higher education to the girls students.
b. Disseminate Knowledge to the students in Arts at Higher Education level.
c. To promote values in the women's students.
d. To promote higher education of girls.

2) Mission/ Vision Statement of the College:

The vision of the Institution is to produce rural youth force of high talent and morality.women's forces of high talent and morality.

3) Brief History of its Organization:

     The Kanpur Anchalika Mahavidyalaya is affiliated to the Utkal University. It was established in the year 1978 by sincere and organized efforts of the people of this licality. Passing through many vicissitudes, trials and tribulations ups and downs during these years the College has grown into a a matrure and healthy institution. The history of this college stand as a testimony to its growth and development form an intermediate College in Arts to a Degree College with Arts and Science streams with provisions for Honours teaching facilities in History, Political Science and Education subjects. The efforts are going on to make up the deficiency. Despite certain communication problem, the college has been able to attract a good number of students for its quality teaching, congenial academic atmosphere an healthy teacher student relationship. The organized zeal and collective efforts of the inmates of the institution- the teacher and the students and all have made this institution academically advanced and a prosperous temple of learing.

4) Duties of the Principal:

i. Administration of the College.
ii. Management of College Office, Meetings and examinations.
iii. Supervision of Activities of students, Teachers, other employees and all the Curricular and Co-curricular activities of the college.
iv. Coordination between College and College Governing Body (G.B), College and the Govt., College and the Public/ Parents.
v. Teaching the students.

5) Main Activities/ Functions of the Principal:

a. Collection of educational policy documents, circulars of Governments/ University/ CHSE, Odisha, courses, teaching aids, books, etc.
b. Admission of students, distribution of powers /charges among the staff, conducting.
c. Supervision different curricular and co-curricular activities, conduct of seminars, workshops, exams.
d. Establishing relationship with the Public, the Govt./ University/ CHSE, Odisha.

6) List of Services being provided by the Public Authority:

a. Providing qualitative higher education to the students of the area.
b. Teaching the students directly.
c. Making arrangement for stipend/ scholarship for poor and meritorious students of the area.

Public Grievance is settled with the help of College Advisory Board, College Governing Body and College Grievance Cell.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1. What is the procedure followed to take a decision for various matters ? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).

Decisions are taken:

i. As per the Direction of the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha.
ii. By the Governing Body of the College.
iii. By the principal in consultation with different internal committees/ Bodies of the College like: College Advisory Board & College Staff Council.
iv. In consultation with the public/ parents.
v. In consultation with the students

2. What are the documented procedures/ laid down procedures/ Defined Criteria/ Rules to arrive at a particular Decision for important matters ? What are different levels through which a Decision Process moves ?

     As per the Educational Manuals Govt. of Odisha, Service Rules, Govt. of Odisha, Circulars from the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha/ Directorate of H.E., Govt. of Odisha/ Regional Directorate of Education, Govt. of Odisha/ CHSE, Odisha.

     At the college level the principal places certain proposal in the College Advisory Board. Then the proposal is moved for the approval of the College G.B. Finally the same is sent for the approval of the Govt. through the Director of Higher Education.

3. What are the arrangements to communicate the decision to the Public ?

Decisions are communicate to the public through College Notice Board, Wall-Notice, News Papers, Public Meetings and letters to the public/ parents.
