Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Brief History of the Public Authority:

     Established in 1977, Brundaban Subudhi College has been marching a head in the path of achievement, success and academic affluence with the support of intellectuals, volunteers, donors and social workers. It obtained government concurrence and affiliation for Intermediate/ +2 stream in 1979-80 & for +3 stream in 1989-90 and permanent government concurrence and affiliation for +2 stream in 2002-03 and for +3 stream in 2002-03.  Growing from infancy to excellence it has the credit of being a full fledged. Honours based Degree College in Arts streams under Utkal University along with +2 stream Arts & Science under C.H.S.E.Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

2. Aim & Objective of the Public Authority:

     The main aim of the college is to bring higher education to the door steps of the poor, tribal and the economically backward children of both rural and urban areas of Daspalla.

3. Strength of the Public Authority:

     Initially, the college began with scanty strengths in Arts with manageable infrastructure.  But, at present the grooming college is flourishing with nearly 1000 students in both +2 and +3 streams and about 30 qualified teaching faculties. It has a vast area to accommodate the present need of the students.

4. List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write of them:

     Barring the conventional academic pattern followed and offered to students, the college is organizing programmes on Govt. sponsored courses like ST/SC Stipend, Career Counseling, Coaching classes for entry into services and remedial classes to expose the dormant creative talents of the students of backward and non-creamy layers category.

5. Main Activities/ Function of the Public Authority:

     Besides offering academic degree and intellectual satisfaction, the college arranges, moral, spiritual and yoga classes to make the students self reliant and self confident to compete and commit in the society.  Being away from the jostle and bustle of the industrial life, the campus along with its long well protected green boundary with serene atmosphere and divine bearings provide a fitting ambience for academic pursuits where learning really means evolving.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1. What is the Procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).

     This is a non-government aided college and principal of the college takes decision in various matters having discussion with the G.B. President and different forums like staff councils, admission committee, examination committee, purchase committee etc as per the Government Rules/ University Norms / UGC Guidelines.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iv)]

     Any letter, public application, proposal received from Government, Public Individual, student and staff are being entered in the Diary Register of the college and referred to concerned sections, officers-in-charge, committees for examination and submission of the compliance in the related files.  The file duly routed through the concerned officer-in-charge are put before the principal by the dealing assistant for approval/ sanction and thereafter dispatched with number and date.
