1. Brief history of the Public Authority:

     Established in 1985 as Belpahar College is situated in the heart of the Belpahar town in the district of Jharsuguda in Odisha. The college is striving hard to achieve its goal and mission since then.

2. Aim & Objectives of the Public Authority:

     Primarily the college aims at educating the weaker section of the society in Western Odisha.

3. Strength of the Public Authority:

     From a small student strength of 121 in 1985 the college has made rapid strides over the periods of time and has grown into a reliable institution for higher education catering to the needs of about 1600 students by providing higher education in Arts, Science and Commerce at +2 level and Arts and Commerce at +3 level.

4. Working Hours of the Office:

From 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M. (In Summer Season)
From 07.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. (In Winter Season)

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1) What is the Procedure followed to take a decision for various matters? (A reference to Secretariat Manual and Rule of Business Manual, and other Rules/ Regulations etc. can be made).

     This is a Block Grant College and the Principal of the College takes decisions in various matters having discussions with different Committees like, Admission Committee, Examination Committee, Purchase Committee and Financial Aid Committee etc. as per the Government Rules/ University Rules/ UGC Guidelines.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iv)]

     Any Letter, Public Application, Proposal received from Government Public Individual, Students and Staff are being entered in the Diary Register and referred to concerned Sections. Officers incharge, Committees for examination and submission of the compliance in the related files. The file duly routed through the different Officers incharge/ Bursars/ Heads of the concerned Departments are put up before the Principal for approval/ sanctions after which being dispatched with number and date.
