Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Aims and Objective of the Organization:

     To actively do development works in the Samiti or block area through different schemes and programmes like PMAY, MGNREGS, BPGY, OLM, SFC, CFC, Old age pension and others as per the direction of Govt of Odisha with the sole aim to upgrade the living standard of the inhabitants of the Block area.

2. Brief History and background of the Establishment:

     The Khajuripada block office established in 10acres of land area. Besides the main and part building which are used as office there are three godowns, one meeting hall and 15 quarters.

3. Services rendered by the office:

     The office deals with  Welfare of SC, ST, OBC, Minority and others, Empowerment of women through SHG, downtroden groups, persons need attention,  Development works through MGNREGS and watershed, Public health and Sanitation, different subsidy programmes through the government plan and schemes.

4. Postal Address of the office:

5. Working hours both for Office and Public:

Day office: 10 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. & 2 P.M. to 5.30 P.M.
Morning office: 7 A.M. to 1 P.M.

6. Grievance Redresses Mechanism:

      Grievance petitions received from the grievance cell of the collector are disposed after proper enquiry. Besides grievance petitions are received during the 1st half of each Monday. Public can access BDO directly with their written grievance matter. A ackwoledgement  on grievance letter is instantly given and after resolving their grivances the same is communicated to the petitioner.

     Block Development Officer is the final decision maker regarding each section of work in the administration of the block with the help of other block staff and in accordance with the guide lines provided by the Govt.

Manner of Execution of Subsidy Programmes

[Section-4 (1) (b) (xii)]

     Subsidy programmes are carried on through the schemes like OSFDC, ITDA, SGSY etc. where the beneficiary may be an individual or a SHG who gets loan and subsidy through banks according to the target provided by the Govt. for the particular year. Subsidy programmes are mainly for SC, ST and BPL families. They apply at the block with filled in forms and other documents which goes to the concerned banks through BDO and after thorough verification by the bank they are provided with the benefit.
