Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organisation:

     Derabis College, Dist- Kendrapara Owes its origin in the heart of Derabls to inculcate the spirit of Higher education and noble dreamas among the youngsters. Its aims & objectives are

a) To impart high grade education to men and women in and round the state.
b)
To culminate in the students the spirit of human values with a sound moral conduct in their thoughts and actions.

c)
To instill in the minds of the students- a sense of equality, social justice, secularism, national interaction and encourage them to be with catalytic personality.

2. History & Background of its Establishment:

     The college was establishment on 22nd February, 1981 on the heart of Derabis by the local benevolents. Its is located 3 kms away from Chhata Chhak on N. H. 5 (A) and 7 Kms from Cuttack - Chandbali road. It is 70 Kms from Cuttack, Via- Chandikhole and 63kms from Cuttack, Via- Salipur/ Dehuria & 55 Kms from Cuttack via- Chndol. It is 10 Kms From the kendrapara town. Its is blessed with the patronage of local God Lord. Dadhibamanjew.

3. Functions & Duties:

     This institution's twenty-two out of twenty-five eminent faculti members have been striving have striving hard to bring about all round development. Being affiliated to CHSE, Odisha and utkal university, the college at present provides education courses of Arts Science in +2 and +3 Arts levels with provision of honours programmes in Economics, Sociology and Odia. The key to the success of our students is:-

a) Healthy and congenial atmosphere of the college.
b) Good telationship between the teacher and the taught.

c)The nobel teaching concept of share and care ,

d) Exposure of students to books and journals ,

e) Up-to-date athletic guidance.

4. Working Hours Both for office & public:

The Normal Working hours of the colleges is 10 A.M to 5 P.M.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

Who are the Officers at various levels whose opinions are sought for the process of decision making?

     The Principal is the sole decision making authority in all aspects. He takes decision in various matters after discussion with different committees, as per government rules and regulations.

Norms for Discharge of Functions

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iv)]

     As per record manual, any letter is first received by the Head Clerk and put up before the principal for specific marking. Then it is referred to relevant section for scrutiny and reply it through the related file.

     Any file is routed through proper channel, i.e to Head Clerk, to officer-in-Charge of the section with a remark to the Principal for approval or sanction after which the same is dispatched being entered in issue register with number & date.
