1) About the Organization:

   The Office of the Civil Surgeon, Ganjam was reorganized as Office of the Chief District Medical Officer, Ganjam, which has been functioning since 01.05.70 vide resolution No.10899/H dated 30.4.1970 of Govt. of Odisha, H&FW Dept., Bhubaneswar. After re-organizing, the Public Health, Medical and Family Planning wings are coming under the control of Chief District Medical Officer, Ganjam.

2) Functions and Duties:

   At the time of re-organizing there were three officers in Sub Divisional level designated as Sub Divisional Medical Officer and ADMO (Med.) for Sadar Sub Division. Besides it there were Twenty two Block level PHCs where the Medical officer in charges were the Head of the Institution and answerable to CDMO for the health activities in their respective blocks.

     At present the following officers and health institutions are functioning under the control of CDMO, Ganjam:
