Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4(1) (b) (i)]
Aim & Objective of the Organization:
This office is an executive unit of Jhumpura Irrigation Project, a major irrigation Project, in the backward district of Keonjhar and in the State of Odisha aiming at creation of Irrigation potentiality of Hectors. As a part of the Major Project, this office was created for construction of Kanupur Branch Canal and its distributary system along with all structures distributary system. Subsequently, construction work of Main Canal was allotted which is also looked after by this office in addition to the Kanupur Distribution system for an ayacut area .
Mission / Vision:
This office has been established with an aim to create and provide irrigation potential under Kanupur Branch Canal system and under its distribution system as well as Kanupur Distribution system in the district of Keonjhar.
Business:
This Division is assigned to o survey and investigation work, preparation of estimates furnishing data for design of canal structures and execution thereof in consultation with the Superintending Engineer, Jhumpura Irrigation Circle and Chief Engineer & Basin Managers. The execution of canal work including canal lining is in progress as per the approved drawing and specification.
Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission:
Under this division, it is aimed to create Irrigation potentiality hectors for Kanupur Canal and land in Keonjhar district. In order to assure and achieve irrigation to the entire area survey Investigation, forest clearance, Land acquisition preparation of estimate and execution of work including lining but not the least formation of Pani Pancayat are to be done. The progress of work both physically and financially is being regulated and reviewed regularly to sat rite the bottlenecks by the higher authorities from Superintending Engineer to Engineer-in-Chief from time to time.
Details of Services Rendered:
Construction of maintenance of service road on canal banks both for public use and departmental use.
Supply of information to the public representative as and when required.
Citizens Interaction.
Citizens are involved in matters of Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Palli Sabha, Pani Panchay at etc. The labourers are involved in construction and maintenance of work. In case of tenders, quotations etc. citizens of designated class and category take part.
Working Hours for both Office and Public:
The office hour is from 10AM to 5.00PM with lunch break from 1.30PM to 2.00PM. and in summer season from 7AM to 1.00PM without lunch break from the month of April/2 to June/14 with effect from the forth coming summer season in every year. There is no specific time fixed for the public but however, public can get the in formation during the office hours basing on the availability of the divisional officer.
Public interaction if any:
Public interaction takes place in meeting organized for PANI Panchayat & in Palli Saha for Land Acquisition.
Grievances Redress Mechanism:
There is no specific grievance cell constituted in this division but grievances of public are settled as and when received.
