Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

The Organization relates to conduct the tests relating to Roads, Bridges, Buildings of Road and Building Organization of the State, National Highways, rural Development also on requisition of the other Department of State and Central Govt., including private organization. Also as and when necessary as per the instruction of the Government, the collection of the samples from the sites are taken up. The samples so collected are being tested in the Laboratories and test results issued to concerned requisiting offices. Necessary testing charges are collected and deposited on proper Govt. Head of Account.

Powers & Duties of Officers & Employees

[Section-4 (1) (b) (ii)]

   

The Executive Engineer, Quality Control (R&B) Division, Cuttack is responsible to Chief Engineer, Research Development & Quality Promotion (R&B), Odisha/ Chief Engineer (Roads)/ E.I.C. (Civil) Odisha/E.I.C.-Cum-Secretary to Govt., Works Deptt. For Administration and General Professional control of the Officer & staff within this Division. This Division specifically deals with the testing of materials collected by the staff of this office or sent by the requisiting offices in the Central Laboratory (R&B), Cuttack & Zonal Laboratory Dhenkanal & Chandikhol. All the test results are submitted by the concerned laboratories to this Division which are issued after counter signature by the Executive Engineer, Payment in respect of testing charges are being realised from Department of State/ Central Govt., and private organization as the case may be and deposited in proper Govt. Head of Account.
