1. Development and Strengthening of Infrastructure for Production and Distribution of Quality Seeds:
The office of the Subject Matter Specialist (Cotton), Berhampur started functioning from dt, 10.07.2005 in the office of Deputy Director of Agriculture, (Ganjam Range). Berhampur to implement the cotton development program in the district of Ganjam & Gajapati. Both the districts are two developing district with respect to cotton cultivation.
Certified subsidized cotton seed, distribution is being made through the sale centos and additional sale center of the cotton growing blocks of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Ganjam Range. The seed flow is through OSSC, Bhubaneswar to SPO, Berhampur, AO sadar through DDA, Ganjam then to AO of sale center/ Additional sale centers of blocks.
2. Development of Market Infrastructure, Grading and Standardization:
Two cotton market yards has been built by RMC with the financial assistance from MM-III of TMC and RKVY. The cotton market yards in Digapahandi of Ganjam district was inaugurated during 08/ 2010 and at Paralakhemundi of Gajapati district during 2009.
3. Micro irrigation:
In this System, Eligible Fanners get 70% Subsidized Extent of Rs. 15,000 to provide Economic Irrigation for 2 Ha. through Sprinkler Irrigation System.
4. Support to State Extension, Program Extension Reforms:
On Cotton Development programme, if sanctioned by PDATMA.
