1. In Odisha many Industries have started:

The Odisha Industrial Security Force has been created to give security to the Govt. Sector, Public Sector, Undertakings, Banks, Industries and other protected Institution of Odisha. On demand of above sector the OISF will be deployed on payment Basis. The primary duty of the OISF is to give Security to the life and property of the Govt. undertakings, PSUs, Vital installations etc.. Besides they may perform Law & Order, Election duty etc. on demand of State / Central Govt. as and when required.

To protect the vital installations of Govt. and Govt. undertakings as well as the public sectors and private sectors etc. on demand and as per the orders of the State Govt.

Keeping in view of the growth of Industries in Odisha State, the Govt. of Odisha thinks to provide security to all the above  institutions on  payment  basis.  Besides the employment be created in the State, The Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) come into existence vide Home Dept.  Letter No.  HOME-DA1-CRTN2-0133-2013/D&A 1770 dtd.15.01.2014. Temporarily its Hdqrs., was functioned at State Police Hdqrs. upto 28.08.2016 for recruitment of Constables. After Completion of Recruitment process the constables were sent to different Training centre for Basic Course of Training. As per State Police Hdqrs. order, the Office shifted to the campus of SSBn., Jamujhari, Khurda, Bhubaneswar and  then after shifted to Command Centre and Control Room (CC&CR) Building 2nd floor, Keshari Nagar, Unit-V, Bhubaneswar on 25.10.2017 and the the Hdqrs. is functioning at this place. DDO Code was allotted accordingly. We have approach the District Collector, Khurda to allocate land adjacent the SSBn., Bhubaneswar for our Hdqrs., and the process is going on.

2. Duties of Public Appellate Authority:

At present Commandant,I/c, OISF is declared as the Public Authority as well as Appellate Authority as per R.T.I. Act - 2005 as the unit head. When the I. G. of Police be posted, he will be declared as Public Authority. To give better administration to employees of this institution and to co-ordinate with SAP Hdqrs., / State Police Hdqrs. for betterment of the force, presently Commandant, OISF is working as public appellate authority as well as Public Authority. The internal administration of the organisation, management, welfare and development of force are also coming under the perview of the Public Appellate Authority. Any information related to OISF is being provided to the public and employees on their demand as per rules (RTI Act-20005).

3. Main Activities & Function of the Public Authority :

Development / deployment / security and welfare of the force is main function of the Public Authority.

Deployment of OISF force in different undertakings of the state, Administration and Supervision of the force as well as other duties as and when the Govt. desires.

6. Arrangements for citizens’ interaction /Public Participation:

This unit is to a great extent not a public concerned office directly. However we needs the co-operation of public for smooth running of this institution.

7. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

In every Monday (Except Govt. Holidays) public grievance and departmental grievance is being heard during offical hours. As practicable necessary steps is being taken to give relief.
