Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. About the Organization:

The District Education Office, Deogarh come to an existence on dt. 24th July'2012 vide Government Notification No. 10161 /dtd. 19th April' 2012 under control of Director of Secondary Education, Odisha, BBSR.

2. Mission/ Vision:
i.
To achieve the target of universalisation of education.
ii.
To reduce the dropouts and stagnation.
iii. To develop the infrastructure facilities of the school.
iv.
To build the capacity of the teachers through in-service training.
v.
To provide quality education of the children within the age group of 6-14.

3. Allocation of Business:
i.
To Inspect the Schooling system and to take remedial measure for quality improvement.
ii.
Appointment and transfer of teachers and office staff and to make payment of their salary and others legitimate dues.

4. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:

Responsibilities have been distributed to individual staff member as per their respective job chart and to supervise it for timely disposal.

5. Details of service rendered:

To monitor all the educational administrative and financial affairs, including smooth conduct of public examination in the district.

6. Citizens' Interaction:

P.T.A., M.C., School Committee have formed as per rules for participatory management of quality education.

7. Public Interaction, if any:

This organization interacts with the public for fulfillment of their demands regarding access to education and establishment of high schools, appointment and transfer of teaching and non-teaching staff and other public works relating to education.

8. Grievance redresses mechanism:

Grievance cell is function on every Monday. In other working days special grievance has hard for smooth management. Grievance petitions received from various quarters are enquired into and action is being taken as per rule within stipulated time.

10. Working hours both for Office and Public:

10 A.M. to 5 P.M. with half an hour lunch break on every working day except morning office during summer which is 7 AM to 1 PM without lunch break.

Procedure Followed in Decision Making Process

[Section-4 (1) (b) (iii)]

1. What are the documented procedures/ laid down procedures/ Defined Criteria/ Rules to arrive at a particular decision for important matters? What are different levels through which a decision process moves?

District Education Officer may be taken any decision after meeting of the Teachers, Staff Members, Collector, Zillaparishad. If it is not satisfied the same may be forwarded to the Directorate, BBSR for necessary action.
