Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

     To work for the Development of Horticulture crops in Panposh Sub-Division to contribute in rural economy through enhanced fruit, Vegetable and Flower production. To provide additional income to resource pour through modern Horticulture farming practices. To generate employment & self employment opportunity. To implement the different scheme lunched by Govt. of Odisha as well as Govt. of India.

2. Mission/ Vision:

     To increase fruit, Vegetable and Flower Production through cultivation of Modern technology. Different Programme have been taken up to increase the said production by    

i) Establishment of Fruits Nursery by beneficiary by 50 % subsidy.

ii) Flower cultivation through subsidy.

iii) Secured cultivation like Green House, Mulching, Shednet House, through subsidy.

iv) Post harvesting care like packing House, Cold Storage, through subsidy.

v) Integrated Disease, pest Management through subsidy.

vi) Vermicompost unit through subsidy.

vii) Micro irrigation (Drip & Sprinkler) through subsidy.

viii) Supply of Horticulture Machinery through subsidy.

ix) Self employment through training to Gardener & Agriculture people.

x) Increase of scientific knowledge of the farmers through different special training & education tour inside & outside of the state.

3. History & Background of Its Establishment:

     During 1978 to 1982, this Office cum farm, was under the Control of Project Officer,(Horticulture) during that period Deputy Director of Agriculture, Sambalpur was the Head of the Division. From 17.07.1982 this Office is running under the control of Horticulturist, Panposh and Deputy Director of Horticulture, Sundargarh is the Head of the Division. The area of this Office cum farm is 50 Ac.

4. Duties Performed:

     Implementation, Supervision, monitoring of various Horticulture activities & programme undertaking by State Govt. & Central Govt. from village level to Sub-Division level through field staffs with there technical aspects in Horticulture crop plantation.& disease pest prevention.

5. Arrangements Made for Seeking Public Participation:

     Awareness camps, skill up gradation training programmes etc. are organized for seeking public participations.

6. Main Activities/ Functions:

Plantation work, Demonstration work & Training programme.

7. Expectations from public:

  Co-operation, contributions & participations are expected from public which enhance the effectiveness & efficiencies of the Public Authority.

8. Arrangements for Citizens Interaction/ Public Participation:

Every working Day from 10 AM to 5 PM.

By verbal, Writing, Telephonic.

f. Subsidy for Integrated Disease, Pest, Management:

g. Subsidy for construction of Vermi Compost pit:
