Introduction
Odisha Rural Housing & Development Corporation Limeted (ORHDC), Promoted by the Govt. of Odisha as a Public Enterprise, is one of the 25 premier Housing Finance companies in India approved by NHB.
To Cater the need of habitats in rural sector, Govt. Of Odisha formed Odisha Rural Housing & Development Corporation Limited in the Year 1994 under the aegis of Housing & Development Dept. Govt. Of Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1. About the Corporation:
ORHDC came in to force on 19.08.1994 after duly registered of companies, Cuttack, under Companies Act 1956 and has been functioning as a Housing Finance and facilitating Company since inception.
2. Appoint of Chairman and Managing Director:
a. Chairman:
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company shall be nominated by the State Govt. of Odisha from amongst the various Directors nominated by it. He shall hold office as the Chairman for a period not exceeding 5 years at any one time.
b. Managing Director:
The Managing Director of the Company shall be nominated by the State Govt. of Odisha from amongst the various Directors nominated by it. He shall hold office as the managing Director for a period not exceeding 5 Year at any one time.
c. Remuneration of Chairman and Managing Director/ Executive Director:
Subject to the provisions of the companies Act, 1956 and the registration theat may be imposed under the Act, the remuneration of the Chairman, Managing Director and the Executive may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors shall preside over the meetings of the Board and also discharge all the statutory functions conferred on him by the companies Act. 1956. The Chairman shall also have such powers as may be conferred on him by the Board of Directors from time to time. |

The Managing Director shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and all the operations of the company shall vest in the Managing Director. He shall have all the powers of day to day management of the company subject to the superintendence, control and directions of the Board of Directors and further subject to such restrictions as may be imposed by the Board of Directors. |
