Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Brief History of the Public Authority and context of its formation:

This Tahasil is functioning since the year 1952.

2) Functions and Duties of the Tahasil:

i) Disposal of Revenue Cases under the Odisha Mutation Manual, Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 and Odisha Land Reforms Rule, 1965, Odisha Prevention of Land Encroachment Act, 1972 & Odisha Prevention of Land Encroachment Rules, 1985, Odisha Govt. Land Settlement Act, 1962 & Odisha Govt. Land Settlement Rules, 1983 and Bebandobasta Cases etc. by holding camp courts.

ii) Collection of Land Revenue.

iii) Issue of Miscellaneous Certificates as per Odisha Miscellaneous Certificate Rule 1984.

iv) Issue of Land Pass Book.

v) Distribution of homestead land & Agricultural land to the homestead less and landless persons.

vi) Provide assistance to the victims of Natural Calamities.

vii) Provide computerized certified copies of the R.O.R of last finally published villages.

Viii) Provide information under R.T.I Act' 2005.

ix) Tahasildar and Addl. Tahasildars conduct miscellaneous, maintenance of law & order, enquiries as directed by higher officers.

3) Working Hour of the office:

From 10 AM to 5 PM (Both official and public) except Govt. Holidays and from 7A.M. to 1 P.M. during morning office (April to June).

Except this, part of the R.I Circle- Baghamari and Siko are function in this Tahasil in which the R.I of the Begunia Tahasil are in-charge.

     Besides the above, some Class III & IV employees of Consolidation and Settlement organization are working under this Tahasil on deputation basis.
